I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Chartered Scientist and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
I completed my BSc (Hons) at the University of Kent and went on to complete my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in 2007. During my training I gained experience in four core areas: adults, older adults, child and family mental health and learning disabilities. In my final year I specialised in adult clinical work at the world renowned Tavistock Clinic in London. Since qualifying I have worked in the NHS and I currently work as a Principal Clinical Psychologist within a community mental health team and a memory assessment service.
I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and I have held a Visiting Lecturer post at the University of Hertfordshire. I regularly teach on Clinical Psychology Doctoral courses at local Universities, I am a Personal Advisor to trainee clinical psychologists and I am responsible for providing a clinical psychology placement for trainees in the area. I have extensive experience of supervising assistant, trainee and qualified clinical psychologists, as well as other mental health professionals.
I am experienced in treating a wide spectrum of psychological issues. I have a special interest in helping clients manage anxiety and depression. I use an integrative approach in my work, and draw on cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches.
I am committed to open and transparent clinical practice so that my clients can have confidence that I am ethical, professional and that my work is of high quality. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
